When the soap becomes the space.1° PRIZE WINNER OF SMART CITY & SMART COMMUNITY - RESTART LOMBARDIA CHALLENGE
During quarantine entering home from grocery shopping has become one the most stressful moment of the week, characterised by the usual ritual of taking off gloves, mask, shoes, clothes and of sanitising hands as soon as the entrance door is closed. Reflecting on the fact that this new necessity will probably remain in our everyday routine even after the pandemia, in-SOAP upgrade the definition of house entrance, conceived ad a space to meet the mutated sanitation needs, ‘inherited’ by covid19.
Experiencing quarantine exponentially amplified the importance of being sanitazied at home. in-SOAP is a device designed to support human life after the 2020 pandemic. This is a project interested in the threshold: by investigating the physical act of entering the home, it defines a buffer zone between outside and inside. in-SOAP is an easy-to-install and transparent light structure that allows sanitising clothes and hands through a double cycle of vaporised disinfectant. Both cycles are associated with the use of a led light which helps the users in spending the right amount of time in order to get rid of viruses and bacterias. in-SOAP is a place which becomes itself the soap.
